Mr. Lee's "I can" Recommendations
As your newborn son or daughter lies in your arms or gazes up into your eyes, you want the whole world for him or her. Parents often tell me that they want their child to live a happy and fulfilling life. They want him or her to be involved in a wide selection of activities whether sports, musical, or cultural. They want their child to be independent and able to make choices in life from a myriad of opportunities.

Meeting interesting people and nurturing relationships, receiving a fine education, being well-traveled, having a successful career, starting his or her family make up just a portion of the expanding list of hopes and dreams. When it comes to our children, donft we transform so easily and willingly into aspiring and positive-minded people who genuinely believe that they are capable of achieving everything and anything in their lives?

Life is made up of these amazing moments. Life with our loved ones and children are filled with special moments that we cherish and summon up when we need that power within to keep us going. After all is it not true that life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away?

WHY GOOD PARENTS HAVE BAD KIDS

I first read this book when my wife was pregnant with our first son Lance and it really helped to bring what I had come to learn about child rearing into focus. Why Good Parents Have Bad Kids truly helped my wife and me get a grip on what course we would take in the years to come. I hope you enjoy it.

AS A MAN THINKETH

As a Man Thinketh is a book that will take you to the soul of your being and for many of us that can be a hard place to visit but after several readings I found myself coming to terms with my many imperfections and I thanked the author, James Allen, for having such insight. This is a book to be passed down through the generations.

ACRES OF DIAMONDS

Most of us have heard the saying: The grass is always greener on the other side, and I believe it is human nature to want the things we think or feel we don't have. Well, after I read Acres of Diamonds I found myself referring to it any time I had thoughts of lack or feelings of scarcity. I have told this story time and time again and each time I do I find myself transported to a world of abundance.

JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL

I first read Jonathan Livingston Seagull in 1972 while stationed at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. It was given to me by Airman Cunningham who could see I was in need of some inspiration. It did the trick and I haven't looked back since. I have read two more books written by Richard Bach since my Air Force days and enjoy them as well, Illusions and One. I have had each of my sons read Jonathan Livingston Seagull at an early age and I truly believe it has helped to mold the way they think about their journey in life.

THE PROPHET

My older brother Marvin gave me a gift on my twenty first birthday that I still cherish today, It was a collection of books by Kahlil Gibran, (1883 - 1931, a poet, philosopher, and artist who was born in Lebanon, a land that has produced many prophets). The Prophet, is my favorite of all his books. I also have a musical interpretation featuring Richard Harris that will bring warmth to your heart and a smile to your face that will last for days.
